2020 Coffs Coast Gold Congress Tuesday 11th August to Sunday 16th August 2020

Please note on-line registrations will open on the 1st April at 9am for the Coffs Coast Gold Congress event.

Last year the congress reached capacity within 24 hours of entries being opened. As a consequence we advise to not book any non refundable airline flights (or accommodation) before being notified that your entry has been accepted.

Payment by Direct Transfer can sometimes take 2 or 3 days depending on the institution and this may jeopardise acceptance if we do not receive it in a timely manner. Processing transfers is a multiple step process (compared to credit card processing) to progress an entry to the acceptance status. Please consider credit card method of payment if at all possible.

Entries will be accepted such that the total tables in the pairs and teams remain equal at all times.

That is, when a new table is added to the pairs event, a table will also be added to the teams event.

In the first instance entries will be processed in chronological sequence, but priority will be given to a "full entry" received. ie a full table of pairs and a full table for the teams.

Players who only want to play either in the pairs or teams, but not both, should get their entries in early and we will endeavour to match up these entries so they can proceed to the accepted stage. However, the best solution is that your captain try and find other bridge players in your club [or elsewhere] in order to put in a "full entry". This will maximize your chances of acceptance.

Entries will be listed on the "Pending/Waiting list", until payment has been processed, & reconciled, before progressing to the accepted list.

Expect a possible delay of several days before accepted entries start appearing on the internet.

Coming from the North:

Opal Cove is approx 18 km south of Woolgoolga on the Pacific Highway. Just as you are leaving Woolgoolga you will see the Sikh Temple on the left side. 12km from here you will pass the Moonee Shopping centre again on the left, noticeable by Coles Supermarket. The venue is 5.5 km from here, as you enter the 80Km/hr zone 300 metres from the turning (left) there is a sign saying 'Opal Cove resort 300 metres'.

Coming from the South:

Opal Cove is approx 7 km north of the Coffs Harbour CBD on the Pacific Highway .The Big Banana is about half way on the left hand side. Stay on the right hand side lane. As soon as you see Sapphire Motel & Pacific Palms Motel (on left), indicate right & start filtering into the right turn which takes you into Opal Cove.

Cancellation Policy

All transactions are processed in Australian Dollars (AUD).

For players who have submitted a valid entry and wish to cancel their entry the following conditions apply:

  • Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the start of the event will be fully refundable
  • Cancellations received within 30-15 days prior to the start of the event will incur a 50% penalty unless full fee paying replacements are found.
  • Cancellations received within 14 days prior to the start of the event will incur a 100% penalty unless full fee paying replacements are found.

It is the player's responsibility to find a suitable replacement/substitute although the organiser will make every effort to assist in the process.

A suitable replacement/substitute will only be accepted once approved by the organiser.

All valid refunds will be credited to the credit card used to make the original payment.

Player Categories

Intermediate/Restricted

    Each player must have less than 750mp as of 1st April in the current year to play in this section.

    Intermediate/Restricted section is played as a separate field to the Open field.

Open field

     This field is opened to any player and there is a prize level for the best performing players under 1000mp.

    Cards will only be charged when entry is about to be accepted.

Direct Credit to:

Not our preferred method - it is more efficient to process a credit card and accept the entry immediately, rather than try and connect a direct payment back to an entry. In addition direct payments create a lot of unnecessary refunds that have to be processed when entries do not make the cut!

Entry Acceptance Criteria

Note: One single payment per entry.

  1. Only entries that are complete and fully paid and reconciled will be listed on the accepted list.

  2. All entries will remain in the pending file until they meet the first criteria.

  3. Payments are manually processed after they appear in the club bank account, so allow for a possible delay especially over week end periods.

  4. Players should check the accepted entries and pending entries on the Coffs Harbour Bridge club site.

  5. There will be date time stamp on each of these lists which will indicate when they were last uploaded.

  6. It may be necessary to click the reload button on your browser if you suspect the list is not the latest!

  7. We will also reply by email to whoever submitted the entry if the entry is considered incomplete. The status of the entry will be shown on the pending list.

  8. Make sure you read and understand the cancellation policy.

  9. The pending file will also act as the waiting list when maximum table capacity is reached (approx 106 tables).
